The NIDO is a shell chair with a fully upholstered seat shell. Seat and backrest form one unit that encloses the body and provides lateral support. The cover is textile, heathered anthracite, and has a zipper on the back. The frame consists of four black metal legs that angle outward.
The dimensions of 61 × 57 × 78 cm make the chair compact enough for dense seating. The overall height of 78 cm suggests a seat height within the usual range. The shell shape provides lateral support without the need for armrests. The textile cover looks homey and dampens sound.
The metal frame is freestanding and does not require wall anchoring. The four legs distribute the weight evenly, and the angled stance gives the shell stability. The chair can be lifted and moved without casters or glides getting in the way.
