The AIKO is an armchair with an organically shaped seat shell that encloses the sitter from the sides and back. The shell is fully upholstered in black fabric, and the surface is matte and understated. The frame consists of four chrome-plated metal legs that splay outward in a star shape in a distinctive wire structure and are joined by diagonal braces. This construction recalls the Eiffel Tower and gives the armchair a light, graphic effect.
The shell form provides side support and defines a clear seating position. The armrests are integrated into the shell, and the backrest connects organically to it. The chrome-plated frame visually lifts the seat shell off the floor and keeps the armchair looking light despite its enclosing form. The legs end in small glides that protect the floor.
The AIKO is suited to reception areas, lounges and meeting corners where a clear seating position is wanted. The shell form offers a degree of screening without enclosing the seat, and it gives each seat its own contour. The black fabric upholstery is resistant to signs of use and fits into many settings. The chrome-plated frame remains easy to care for even with frequent use.
