The EAMES DSW is a shell chair with an organically shaped seat made of white plastic. The one-piece shell rises slightly toward the back and, thanks to its curved form, provides support without armrests. The frame consists of four legs of light maple wood that angle outward and are connected in a cross pattern by black metal struts. This construction gives the chair stability at low weight.
The seat shell measures 46 × 55 cm and offers sufficient room for extended sitting. The seat height is within the usual range for dining tables and conference tables. Due to the angled leg placement, the chair stands securely without taking up much floor space.
The chair can be relocated quickly and is easy to handle thanks to its low weight. The smooth plastic surface is not sensitive to moisture and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. This makes it suitable for events where many chairs need to be moved: meetings, seminars, receptions.
