The DSW is a shell chair with an organically shaped seat shell made of black plastic. The shell is raised at the back and provides support in the lumbar area. Four angled legs of light natural wood support the chair. Between the shell and the legs runs a visible wire structure of black metal, which serves as the load-bearing connection and forms a characteristic crisscross pattern.
The overall height of 83 cm corresponds to a typical table height of 72 to 76 cm. The seat is therefore at a standard seat height. The width of 47 cm and the depth of 55 cm provide sufficient room for extended sitting. The shell wraps around the body at the sides and provides support without restricting movement.
The construction of wooden legs and wire structure makes the chair lightweight and easy to handle. The angled legs provide stability, and the wire structure distributes the weight evenly across all four legs. The smooth plastic surface can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
