The EAMES DSR is a shell chair with an organically shaped seat shell made of smooth, glossy plastic in mustard yellow. The frame is made of black metal wire: four slim legs angle outward and meet beneath the seat shell at a central hub, the so-called Eiffel Tower form. The legs end in small round glides that protect the floor and allow the chair to be moved quietly.
The seat shell measures 46 × 55 cm and offers an ergonomically shaped seating surface with slightly raised side panels. The smooth surface can be wiped down with a damp cloth. The frame is slim yet sturdy. The construction distributes the load evenly across all four legs.
The chair is stackable and can be stored and transported in a space-saving way. Its low weight makes setup and teardown easier. The clean design language and the bold color make it a striking piece that still recedes into the background when arranged in rows.
